Naturcoa beans are rich in cocoa butter and have a flavor notes of almond or peanut.
These beans are obtained as the result of an investigation that took more than seven years. A new plantation was developed using seedlings that were the result of a Nacional tree trunk with a branch of CCN51 grafted into it. Farmers in Ecuador commonly name these trees as ‘Cacao Injerto’. These trees when planted near tropical fruit varietes and due to cross-pollinization, produce a lower acidity bean compared to normal CCN51 beans.
